Korker Hair Bows

My newest fascination with hair bows is creating korker ribbons.  What are korker ribbons?  They are those spiral ribbons that you see on little girls' hair clips and attachments to hair bows!  I love them!  The fun part is you have to bake them.  Yes, you read that right - BAKE THEM!!  I made several hair bows with korker ribbon for Valentine's gifts and the recipients were so excited to receive them!  My most favorite is the one I will feature on this post.  If you or your little girl love ladybugs, you will love this!!

How it is made:
Black, satin ribbon, with ladybug embellishments and red with black polka-dot korker ribbon!  This one was custom made for a friend, but I can create a few more.  They are $10 + $2 for shipping.  I can make 2 smaller ones or pig tails for the same price.   They can be on head bands, french clips and/or alligator clips.  Follow my blog for more stuff!!

My Newest Creations

After the San Francisco Giants won the 2012 World Series, I was asked to make some hair bows with the baseball team's colors: black, orange & white!  The order happened to be for twin girl babies, so I was very excited to start working on them!  Since my hair bows are all custom-made, I do not keep any hair bows in stock, so I had to put on my thinking caps on what to create because I really did not want it to look Halloween-ish either.  Here is what I came up with -

My daughter loves Hello Kitty, the color pink and lime green!  So, I wanted a crazy & funky-looking bow!!  I made a super stacked hair bow!!  I stitched the lollipop-looking lime green & white center.  After I made it, my husband saw it and said it looked like a dessert and good enough to eat!  All of my hair bows are stitched together, so it takes a little more time!  I do not like to only use the glue gun to bond everything!!  anyway, she absolutely loved I made it and put it in her hair!  Here it is!

This past Saturday, we had a family friends' 4-year old girl's birthday party to attend and I know that this little girl is always stylin'!  She loves pink and the pink hair bows always look so beautiful in her hair!  I made sure to create something to be very fitting with her style and sweet personality!  I used an white, ruffled organza overlay to give it a softer look  I stitched the hot pink flower center and embellished with a round pendant!  She loved the hair bow and wore it immediately!

Why are my bows so unique?  

I do not typically make 2 of the same bows, unless they are for multiples!  I really enjoy making different ones that are unique to the tastes of my customers.  Additionally, I am not glue gun happy!  I use the glue gun the least amount as possible and love to stitch my hair bows for added durablility and longevity.  I have purchased many hair bows for my daughter in the past that have fallen apart because only a glue gun was used.

What is one of my most favorite hair bows I ever made?

Do you share the same love for hair bows as I do?   

Q:  What got me into hair bows?
A:  I absolutely love putting them in my daughter's hair and she absolutely loves wearing them!   

Q:  How did I get into making hair bows?
A:  I was always intrigued with how hair bows were made, especially the huge hair bows that little girls adorn their pretty, little heads with!  I took one class to learn how to make them and I was hooked.  I just wanted to learn all of the different techniques on the different types of hair bows and now have made them into unique head bands & hair clips!  

Q:  What is my favorite typed hair bow? 
A:  I love stacked hair bows!  They are so much fun to make and allows me to use more of my creative side!  I can make stacked hairbows from small to extra large & fancy!

Q:  What do I love most about making hair bows?
A:  I love that not one of my hair bows are the same!  Don't get me wrong, I can duplicate a design, but I would much rather create something different for my client's own unique taste!  I see many of the same hairbows and patterns, so I like to create ones with a different twist!

Q:  Why should a little girl wear a hair bow?
A:  Hair bows are beautiful and what little girl does not like to feel beautiful?  It is also a fun way for girls and even women to accessorize!  Like me on Facebook and if there is a particular hair bow you like, contact me to place an order!  I can make any hair bow into a hair clip or a head band!  Below are just some examples of my work!

Q:  What are my future plans with the business?
A:  I eventually would like to just be making uniquely elegant couture hair bows & hair clips used for photo shoots and advertisements.  I surprise myself with each and every new hair bow I make, so I look forward to what the future holds or me!  Thank you for your support in helping me obtain my business goals!
